This is trying to change the colours of the fill you have associated with your Building Material you are using for the slab in section.

The cutline pen is the perimeter pen.
The foreground pen is the hatch line pen.
The background pen is the colour of the space between the hatch lines.

Using no over-ride means you are using the pen colours as set for the fill in the Building Material itself.

If you have a solid fill associated with your building material then only the foreground pen will have an effect.

If you have an empty fill associated with your BM then it is the background pen that will have an effect.

If you have a % fill you will get a bit of both - more background for 0% and more foreground for 100% and a blend for everything else in between.

Regular hatches (grids or lines) you will clearly see both pen colours.

I didn't notice the spelling mistake - maybe I should get those glasses.
