Yeah, that happens because the skins are always run to the side of another skin, they don't connect to each other "frontally". Most of the times this gives the best result and this makes the most sense, but in other occasions (like this) it doesn't work out.
The solution I usually give in these cases (when you need walls to meet in a special/unusual way) is to use a complex profile column. Just draw the connection manually, and pace it as a column. Don't connect the walls to each other, they should both stop at the edge of the column.
Btw, a tip for complex profiles: use the hotspot tool to place hotspots in it on corners. This will create actual hotspots when placed, so you will be able to snap to them.
