Wibu drivers were not updated at the time, so I had to use an educational version. The drivers are updated since then.
OpenGL realtime navigation had some issues with the Aero interface in Vista. But the nVidia drivers for the 64-bit version were not that great, to be honest.
The Java-installer disabled the Aero interface in Vista, but nothing really bad happened.

Does AC10 run on windows vista or is some update required?
But seriously: Vista is not and will not be fully supported by AC10(not even with future hot fixes).
FYI - work for Vista support in future major AC releases is in progress...

It looks like Windows XP for a new machine is the way to go (for AC10) at least....agreed?

upFront.eZine NEWS #503 has some additional information and opinions too (and that is targeted at CAD users).

(beware, current visible issue is #502 when I checked it... but check back the following days - I cannot copy the article since it's copyrighted).
I think it is safe to state that most production environments and offices are not likely to quickly switch to Vista in the next few months (or even years). Unless you are on a major hardware upgrade, installing Vista in your current office would probably have serious consequences.
That said, I like Vista as a whole, but many of the restrictions and caveats are reasons to at least keep a working XP installation ready. If you want security, then opt for the 64-bit edition, since most applications and drivers are not ready for it
