No need. You can run all your Windows apps in Parallels or Boot Camp.

GPU. Graphic Processor Unit. Graphic Card takes care about what you see in 3D window. Main processor do not make calculations in that area. That means much faster 3D and more power for other tasks.

I also have read that it is somewhat faster than a similarly configured Dell. I assume that this means that the hardware drivers are pretty much up to snuff. OpenGL performance is very good. I have also seen no display driver related problems which have seemed endemic to many PC's.TomWaltz wrote:What about hardware acceleration? Is that fully supported in these environments?

Running Windows on a Mac using Boot Camp will make full use of your hardware - there is absolutely no difference to a PC.
well actually there is ... the MacBook Pro is faster : )
Parallels however is a virtual machine and it does not make full use of your hardware - e.g RAM access is limited to 1.5GB max and your whiz-bang Graphics Card is treated as a Generic 8MB card. Despite this I have used AC10 on Parallels and it runs pretty well i have to say.
There are plenty of comparisons out theresuch as this

But seriously Vista is not and will not be fully supported by AC10 (not even with future hot fixes).
FYI - work for Vista support in future major AC releases is in progress...
