Zones stamps disappear (black dot) but show in zone settings

To make them reappear I need to select the zones, change them to some other category, and change them back to their category.

Sometimes the zones decide to display some other stamp (even though they show the correct one in the zone settings, including all stamp parameters and preview).

Is it a RAM thing, a network thing? The project is loading the project library (where this zone stamp is) and the office library from the server, and AC11 local.

it sounds like an issue with the zone stamp that you've chosen for that particular category. go into Options>Attributes>Zone Categories... and check the settings for the category you're having trouble with. if you get error messages there, there is a strong likelihood that you're going to have trouble placing them.

which zone stamp have you specified? and what are it's settings?

What is baffling is that the name shows correctly in Zone Categories, again the zone settings etc. look perfect (that is: it is loading the object, and it remembers all the object-specific parameters), it is just the floor plan display that disappears or occasionally changes to some other stamp.

Right now it is a variation I made of 'Zone Identifier 2 11', but it was happening with other stamps too.
I have a observed a form of this. I updated our office stamp for 11, and the old version still loads for compatibility. In a migrated project, the zones were created in 10 with the old stamp. Once the project is migrated, the Zone Categories are changed so that the new stamp is used everywhere.

Newly-placed zones are fine. Pre-migration zones keep acting like they're hooked to the old stamp, though their category is not. Like you, it's a question of a new version of an old stamp.

I reported it, but in the meantime I had to re-create all the bad zones.

There seems to be a similar nostalgic marker thing going on with drawings.

I have never seen this before but yesterday I got this or nearby problem with zonestamps in AC10. I have used same configuration since AC10 came out but yesterday it was the first time I got problems with my zonestamps.
But for me it helped to go in and out in zone settings a few times. But every new stamp got the same problems. And copy settings from one correct to a new one doesn't help.

Hi,
I am experiencing a similar problem with AC 11. I have a project in which all zones were already set to the default "zone_stamp_02". I created a new zone stamp, based on this default, adding a few extra parameters. I opened the zone categories and changed the defaults to the new zone stamp. I click OK and the plan updates to show all the zones with the new zone stamp. Then I go through every zone inserting data into the new parameter fields. Fine. After exiting and restarting the program, however, all the zone stamps revert to the old zone_stamp_02, even though the properties dialogue box shows the correct, new zone stamp information. I try selecting all zones and changing their categories back and fourth and this resets all the zone stamps to the new version except all the data in the new parameter fileds is lost!
Also, but a little less imortantly, the settings for decimal places and rounding that are set in the project properties show correctly on the floor plan but do not show on the layout view.
Any Ideas how to work around this?

Use some other category (if necessary, create a dummy category) with *the same* zone stamp so as to be able to go back and forth without losing data.

The decimal thing in the layout has to do with the view settings. Make sure your dimensions settings are saved with some identifiable name (that is, avoid 'Custom' for traceability) and that the view is using those settings.
