compsoite wall setting question.

I have an interesting question, I'm trying to draw a wall with a composite, but I want half the wall to be one height, and the other half a different height, is this possible or do I have to draw two walls next to each other? to Give you a better idea of what I'm trying to accomplish I'll explain the scenario; I'm drawing a poured foundation wall, with a brickledge, so the wall is a total of 10" thick, but I need the inside 6" of concrete to be 9' tall, but the outside to be 8' tall? is this possible? any info would be appreciated.

cheers,
Dan

I'm no expert on this but we have used the Wall Accessory tool under the Extras menu to achieve an exterior wainscot of stone or brick thickened lower portion of a wall. I believe the thickened portion becomes an attached object to the composite wall you define, but not sure.

Stuart/Tom:

Did you find the Cadimage tools easy to learn? The documentation is pretty slim. I'm learning by trial and error at a time when I have none (time that is). A tutorial would be helpful, but I don't think they have one.

I didn't have any problem picking it up. I worked my way through the manual while working in a blank project, so I could experiment. I spent maybe an hour or two getting the hang of it. The only staff here (out of 20) who have had problems are the same ones who have problems with doors, windows, and other objects with LOTS of parameters.

We actually set up a couple "typical" conditions, then used their "save object defaults" tool (from their Object Tools) to save the default settings to the Wall Builder.

I also didn't have much problem picking it up. I think it is a help if you are a trial & error kind of learner. I ran into a couple of things I couldn't figure out on my own and emailed CadImage and they were very helpful. I just got word an undate is coming out shortly which will add trim under window sills on the exterior ( something I've always wanted ) and that it will work on curved walls which is something it doesn't do yet. All upgrade patches are free.
