elements r there but they don't appear

i'm working on sections and all the elements that i want to show in the sections r in the path of the section line. i go to the corresponding section window and some elements don't appear. so i move the cursor where i know an element should be and i get the check mark or mercedez symbol so i select it. when i go to the dialogue box the linetype, pens and colors that the element is supposed to have r correct. then i click on ok. Even though i did nothing but go into the dialogue box the element shows up. Great. But the problem is there r numerous items that don't show up. so every time i show the architect these drawings i have to go through this anoying process. i have also tried clicking on rebuild from model and that undoes any elements that i have gotten to show up.

keenen,
It may be that you have duplicate objects occupying the same space.
Try deleting one object that you can't see but can find with your cursor.
Remember to rebuild the S/E window after the delete.

How do you open the section?

If you are clicking on the view, what is the layer combination associated with the view?

Use Check Duplicates in the plan with all the layers on and unlocked to see if there are identical objects occupying the same space. If there are, as Peter said, they will not show.

Also, is your section line maybe of zero depth? In that case, only the cut objects will show in the section.
