elevation dimension in rcp

Hi there, 

I am trying to use an elevation dimension in my rcp view (a 3D document view) to the show height of a roof at the points where it meets the wall. My issue is that the elevation dimension is showing a negative value and is also showing the incorrect height from project zero (the correct elevation to project zero is 166540). Refer to below image. How would I approach fixing this or what is a recommended approach to showing the roof elevation on an rcp.

Use the Spot Level tool.

The Elevation Dimension is the vertical dimension on the drawing from Project Zero, not the z-dimension. I do not see any situation where it actually makes sense to use this option in plan, so GS could probably disable it to reduce confusion.

I'm trying the spot level tool but it only shows a value of 0.

I suspect that you are not actually selecting your ceiling. Make sure your slab / roof highlights when placing the dimension, else it will just gravity to the top of any visible mesh, or place on PZero if there is no mesh. If your element does not have a Fill, you will need to cursor over the boundary. You can move the dimension after placing.
