general issue with archicad vs revit

Hi,
So I have moved over from Revit to Archicad, and there's a few things that still puzzle me after using the program for about 6 months
1. what's the reason for building a wall from one story to the next instead of making the wall go from f.ex 1st to 10th floor? I know you can stretch a wall over several stories, but then you need to make that wall visible in all stories, and that's a problem when you reach 11th story, and you don't want to see that wall.
2. why can't you make a stair go from f.ex 1st to 10th floor, but instead copy/paste on each floor?
3. why can't you make a shaft through all the floors without going through every floor and make a cut?
4.why can't I pick the previous selection?

Why can't you SPACE-click in Revit on one element to pick up its geometry to create a new element?
Why can't you have Trace Reference of any Story or Section/Elevation or Layout placed under your current Viewpoint in Revit?
Why can't you edit in perspective in the 3D Window in Revit?
Why can't you simply place a slanted Wall in Revit? Why do you have to create a Mass and then convert it into a face or resort to other workarounds?
etc. etc. etc.

Because it is a different program. Different people designed it and it works differently to achieve the same things.

1. You can play with the Floor Plan Display options in the Wall's settings Dialog. If it is set to Projected, on the 11th Floor it it is under the Floor Plan Cut Plane, it will be shown in view, not cut. If it is set to Cut, in this case it will not be shown in the top floor.
2. and 3. This is how ArchiCAD works. They are done story by story. You can actually create a slab that goes through all stories and use the Subtract SEO to cut the shaft.
4. If you Undo and Redo, the last selection will be selected. But I see you had that in another thread.

I know these are not the way they are done in Revit, but please be open and curious about the ArchiCAD way. It will help you learn the program better and faster.
Both programs do certain things better and certain things not as well as the other.

Sorry for being so grumpy, but my bloodpressure goes through the roof when dealing with certain operations in Archicad
I am definatelly open and curious to new ways of thinking, and I have in my career been through a lot of different CAD programs. I had a crash course in Revit, and after a week I was up and running, producing work drawings of big projects, and although there are issues with Revit like you mention, the program seemed in a way "more intelligent" and user friendly. There aren't hundred of tiny icons, menus with submenus and so on to be ticked correctly to get what you want.. Revit helps you on your way to do what you want
We are 10 architect in the office, some with years of experience with archicad, but they're still fumbling with explaining how Archicad does certain things.
My main issues with archicad is the stair tool, and the SOSI import through Architerra, it works in a way, but soo time-consuming...

I want to see the hole in plan, so the Substract SEO doens't work?

I actually know how you feel. I have studied both Revit and Vectorworks and I went through the same feelings of how unintelligent and convoluted some of their solutions are compared to the way it is done in ArchiCAD.
However, I had to realize that many times the reason I feel that way is because I am so accustomed to how I do it in ArchiCAD. So I have to be open to the idea that they may work differently.

About your question:
If you want to see the hole in plan, then you should create the SEo with a Slab and keep the Slab visible.
Or simply create the holes in the normal floor slabs of the building.

If you have repeating elements on multiple stories, save them as a module file and link that on the other stories, instead of drawing and manipulating the same floorplan layout on all the different stories.
