gravity to roof in version 16

Barry Kelly
Moderator
Is anyone else having trouble with the gravity to a multi-plane roof in version 16?

For me it just doesn't seem to work.
Doesn't matter if it is an object, wall, beam or whatever.
It is consistantly setting to the wrong height (ie 754mm above the surface).
The pitch of the roof seems to make a difference to the height error.

I tried on a single plane roof and that works fine.
Tried again on the multi-plane roof and now the objects are below the surface.

I know there is a hotfix coming out in the very near future that is supposed to be fixing a problem with the roof accessories on a multi-plane roof.
I really hope it fixes this problem too.
Or is it just me having this trouble?

Barry.

Maybe it is a problem with the local origin of the Object and there is nothing wrong with the gravity feature.

Did you test the problem before dismissing it? Because a simple test shows something wrong…

In this image, one group of roofs is multi-plane, the other isn't.

The figure gravitates to the single-plane roof and missed the roof plane entirely on the multi-roof. That's the figure way down at the bottom.

So it appears the gravity feature isn't reading the multi-roof or that an extra step of some kind is needed….

You are right Dwight, it doesn't gravitate to Multi-plane Roofs for me either.
I will report this to GS as the Help file doesn't say it shouldn't work with multi-plane Roofs.
