can i save different design stage in the same file?

you can't, unless you model all 'options' in the same file on different layers and then use the layer combos to create and save different views. or you model the same stuff elsewhere in your plan....
not a terribly good idea though.
if you just want drawings then priniting/saving as pdf with revision will do the trick...

I thought this could be accomplished by signing in the file as teamwork and saving out the different revisions. Advantage being able to "restore" a previous design. I've not tried this so someone else will need to confirm.
