palettes are locked

Starting this morning, all the palette boxes are fixed and I can not change them. The lower right corner where I drag a palette to changed it's size is white and will not respond. How can I make them active again, and what did I press to create this?

I guess that's why your are a Junior Senior (pun intended), and I am a new guy! I am looking over the Preference Cleaning right now.

Don't forget to share the inside ropes, like A-talk for Dummies (that would be me).

And don't forget to give me hardware tips for my winXP. I have a shop that would love to have me work for them, but they are MAC haters! Can you imagine that?

Sorry Peter, but I've really no suggestion for you. My PC is a laptop, an old one, and I don't even remember what graphic card it has... Sure here are a lot of skilled people that you can ask (in the HW section of the forum) .
