prevent 3d window from popping up when you change 3d engine

Hello

I'm using the AC9, windows version.

Is there a way to prevent archicad automatically jumping into the 3d window once you change any setting in [3d Engine and Mode] under the pulldown menu?

I often find myself changing 3d modes (especially to from shading to hidden line and vice versa. It's a time problem when the 3d window pops up each time and the whole model tries to generate (unless you remember to place a small marquee or select an item before you attempt to change the mode).

Any suggestions?

Check your work enviornment; there is a setting under Imaging and calcuation to allow 3D settings to bring the 3D window to front.

Thanks a lot it works. Been using AC for so long and don't know how I missed it.
