License Delivery maintenance is expected to occur on Saturday, November 30, between 8 AM and 11 AM CET. "Look to Perpendicular" Question

Anonymous
Not applicable
When I activate the "Look to Perpendicular" command and select horizontal surface, it projects me looking down at a 90° angle to the surface as I would expect. Except it does it at a rotated angle 90° from where I would hope it would project me. In the pic it shows the slab/arrow pointing to the right but in the 2D space it's pointing up. Doesn't matter what angle I start from it takes to me to this 90° angle.

Does anyone know how to set the angle for this to 0°?

Try going to View > 3D View Mode > 3D Projection Settings. There you can modify the camera's azimuth (by entering the desired angle or by dragging the camera's symbol in the preview window - see the attached image).

Hope that helps,

I looked into what you were talking about and ran into this little oddity.

In the first pic it's the 3d arrow again with the Perspective Settings box open. The next pic is of the same 3d arrow in 2d with the Perspective Settings box open to show the same settings. Yet they are not the same...

Bug?

Well, the Perspective Settings control things in the 3D window (not 2D), so it's normal. In 2D you have other option, like rotating the orientation of your view.

Regardless of the 2D, in 3D there is something wrong. In the pic you can see the orientation of the arrow in the settings preview has the right orientation but the actual object itself is rotated 90° clockwise and pointed to the right instead of the orientation I was expecting it to be. And that's with the 0.00° azimuth.
