ok sorted it. In revit you save the current view where as in archicad you have one set view to alter, you then save that one view. Prob amkes it harder if you want to adjust an old render without re doing it.
Nononono ...

Bryan, now comes the horrible question - did you try to read the help?

You can create ANY number of new views; the trick is - to save them in an appropriate folder. So where you have the Generic perspecrive, in the same folder, click on the fat arrow pointing right in the navigator - it will allow you to save the current 3D view, with the current 3D settings and the current rendering settings. Note: rendering settings are kept if you have a camera defined (in the 3D navigation palette, Place camera into path).

Maybe the best way to do it is to create your own view set, and then the views, as many as you like.

Works?

Bryan, a few more tips:

1. Increase your resolution to 1280x1024 minimum, it will be much easier to work

2. forget black backgrounds - you almost never draw on black paper, do you?

3. Keep the rendering window proportional to the 3D window; that way there will be no surprises in the shape and form of background bands on the longer side of the rendering

4. RTFM!

thanks,

the idea of the renders there will primarily be used to replace my concept sketches. They will be layed out down the side of my plans etc, ,just experimenting with presentation techniques. But the real renders have photgraphic backgrounds.
I normally render to a larger screen just while i was trying to save it i was not wanting to wait for rendering. The smaller window was just faster
