skylight solutions

I've found a similar question but no solution. When I try adding a skylight to a roof with a 1 degree slope, I get the following messge: "The angle of the roof is under 20 or above 80 degress. Skylight windows require specific solutions to be built on these roofs."

When inserting the skylight, the roof slab projects beyond one side of the skylight, out through the wall and beyond into space.

So:

I changed the roof pitch, inserted the skylight and changed the roof slope back. Although, I did not receive the error, I did receive the same result.

What is the fix?

Thanks,

Jason.

Jason,
I am not sure exactly what you are describing
but I suspect it might have something to do with the
default edge angles of the hole that the skylight tool cuts in the roof.
If so you need to select the roof, click on the roof tool,
select the upper and lower edges of the hole,
select the edge angle icon in the pet pallet and
correct the angle to "perpendicular".
Hope this helps,
Peter

Included is a screen shot of my problem (roof slab projects beyond the wall). Can you elaborate on your directions a little- Which view should I be in, and how do I select the roof, and then the edges of the hole?
Having a slope of 0 degrees works fine, but 1 degree causes a problem.

Thanks,

Jason

The problem you're experiencing is actually the roof edge angle given to the hole in the roof, by the skylight.

To fix it, click on the roof hole edge, while in the roof tool, and change the angle of all the sides (of the hole) to perpendicular.

See the attachement.
