suddenly window parts are disappearing willy-nilly

Well. There I was merrrily modelling away, going from plan to section to marquee'd-3D when I looked up and noticed that the windows were dropping lines. They hadn't been doing this before. I don't know what it relates to. I don't know why they would do it of their own accord. Is it a BUG? Or is it ME?
All suggetions are more than welcome...many thanks...

hello

I found the same problem.
I temporarily solved it by saving file in 8.1 version and than it worked until it happened again ... etc 😉

Upgraded version AC9-2172 doesn't have that kind of problems.

thanks for the tip, but it didn't help! I downloaded the updates, and well, the same thing happens. The trim just diasappears when I have more than one window in a wall, and they are the same...as if one occludes the other, with its own white-out lines. It is a bother, and I don't have a ready solution. Has anyone else experienced this phenomenon?

So I pulled out the old wall, and put in a new wall, and new windows and AHA! By gum, worked beautifully. THEN I SEO'D the wall to the roof. And BAM!!!! same disappearing window trick. This seems like a BUG. Now I have to do some fakeo thing for my sections, reduce the wall height and not seo it. Is this a BUG? Why does it do this???
thanks...!!!

Which window are you using? Does it happen to all windows, just that type, or only windows in that particular wall?

I had a similar problem with some doors where the problem arose from the GDL code in the doors. If you are savvy with the code you can check out the library part(s). It has to do with GLOB_CONTEXT being used to check whether the library part is involved in a solid op. Apparently the door or window inherits this value from the wall that contains it.

I will look into it further, thank you for your suggestions. Asking the right troubleshooting questions is a large proportion of the battle. Back to the fray...

Hmm...I took my short wall, which already had windows in it, and increased the height, and then trimmed to the roof- and the windows didn't disappear or drop out at all. I was wondering if it has to do with the order of operations, so I deleted a couple of windows, and then added a new one...but still, everything looked like I wanted. Has anyone else experienced this? It seems like the bugs/ weirdness should be constant, and I don't know why this is inconstant. I am fairly certain it will happen again, someday, under some circumstances, so want to be ready for it...!
Thank you!
