walls appear as wire frame in 3D

I have brought an ArchiCAD7 file into ArchiCAD11 but it shows walls as wireframe in 3D even though the setting is on shading. I have tried to switch between wireframe and shading without success - it still does not show solid walls in 3D.

Does anyone have any idea what might cause this? Other versions of the same project that I have brought into 11 work as expected, but I need this version to work.

Check the layer settings - you can switch individual layers to wireframe by clicking the little block shaped symbol next to the eyeball. These are saved with layer combinations too.

Thanks Peter for that information - I must have hit the icon when switching layers on and off. Have only been using ArchiCAD for 18 years!!! Shows how little we use of the power within this program.

Now if I can only find out why I have wireframe in some 3D Documents and not others in version 16.

It is not the shading/wire frame setting in 3D and it is not the layer setting either.
Can't see any settings in the 3D Document settings dialogue either.

Barry - Is that an option on the hidden 'special' menu perhaps?

Dwight expains it better - http://archicad-talk.graphisoft.com/viewtopic.php?p=212328

It could be.
I did think of that but haven't investigated it yet as we don't have the special menu active so if it is there I don't know how it would have got turned on.
I will look into it though.
