why can't I see the construction/drafting grid (blue plane with mesh) in the 3D window? help...

You now, there's a grid (not the axel grid though) that helps you organize stuff in the drafting area. It comes automatically when you start a project. Can't get that in the 3D wondow. Pleae help!

View Menu > Editing Plane Display

You most likely have this turned off.

It is a toggle, meaning that it changes its state every time it is activated. If it is OFF, use this menu command and it will turn ON. Use the menu command again, and it turns OFF. And so on...

It should be there in your View menu.
If it is not there, you should add it in the Work Environment Dialog.
