New community Roadmap - missing Idea pool?

Karel Landa
Enthusiast

Hi,

I've noticed that a conversion of Roadmap from previous website to community is (almost) done? During testing it I've noticed that there is missing section of "Idea pool".

Also, many items from previous website are missing. Is this a work in progress state? Will the items be added?
Otherwise it is looking good 💪

The mentioned section from previous website:

Kind regards
Karel

Just to clarify, the under research items means we are actively researching these, and in progress we are actively working on those. A number of items that were in the previous idea pool, have been moved to the in progress and under research - based on feedback.

The previous idea pool had no time frame, but it doesn't mean we won't do them - just they are not currently on our short term radar, as we focus on the other topics listed. The wish list can help raise those back into focus, as well as ratings to those in the under research section.

We expect to adjust these road map items as statuses change and we make progress, and also based on your continued feedback.

Centralised Attribute Management seems to have slipped off the roadmap altogether.

It was under research in the old roadmap.

Just forgotten or is it now no longer being looked at?

Hi James, I was very impressed by the older roadmap and now I am very disappointed with the changes I see in the updated one. I would firmly recommend that the company stick closely to the original roadmap configuration. You had me on board for the future with Archicad with that older list. I hope you can reinstate it and stick to it because I think that was very well thought out in my opinion. I think the future of Archicad would be much brighter with those clear goals in mind.

Well, that was some serious spring cleaning!

But lets worry not! With their recently engineered money grabbing scheme, they will have the resources to fullfil each and everyone of our wishes.

The issue here is not what you do internally but how it looks from the outside. The constant reference to internal processes prompted by any inquiry into the future development doesn't induce any confidence in that AC has a future worth investing in - which I assume was the main goal of the roadmap/wishlist. Especially when we know what these internal processes has amounted to during the last few years. This is of course exacerbated by language where removal of 110 out of 120 is described as "some" and the remains as "a number". From the outside something actually happened here and let us hope that there is a better answer as to what than "oh don't worry it is all the same behind the curtains" - because that cut both ways...

Auto rotate in 90 degree increments is not enough for me to commit to AC29 at this stage. However based on the older list, I would have committed to it and kept on going but they dropped a big bomb shell. (SSA/FW discontinued from 2026). I am shell shocked now but I will see what is in the coming soon list next year and then make my final decision then.

All users have diferent needs, but in our case, there are ZERO ítems of the current minimalist roadmap that are of interest or usefulness to us.

Well said

I am going to split hairs also as these need to be discipline specific.  Structural vs Architectural especially.  So it can focus on client, us the professionals/

As An architect I want different things than a structural Engineer.  Maybe focus on only the common things for a while.
