Please can you remove the Profile Cards from the forum interface or at least give us an option to turn them off. They are the most irritating & distracting thing in the forum reading process.
I'm not sure who they are helping, but I doubt it is the average reader.

That’s cool, who wasn’t using ACAD before 2000 ? I even tried it in 1999 but it was too slow for me. I kept using my drafting machine till I was shown 3D home Architect V3.0 and Chief Architect V6.0. All because they drew composite walls like AC does, not just single lines.
AC was the “Rolls Royce” I was told but couldn’t afford it yet. I tried AC7.0 with a specific Archicad TAFE course in 2002 and bought it not long after that at V8.1. It took a while to get used to it but thankfully with the help of the “Virtual Tutor” series I got up and running with it. I don’t understand why people still use ACAD but I guess it suits them and maybe that’s what they are used to most likely lol ?

We might be forced to jump ship since our old ACAD licences cannot be installed on new systems and we are not wanting to start on a subscription. Maybe more AC, but all our SEA clients want dwgs and all our consultants only supply dwgs...

Yes definitely 2D dwg file transfer is pretty much standard practice here in Australia. They always want me to supply ACAD drawings to engineers and builders alike. At least AC has good dwg file translation. Not much 3D IFC file transfer going on with low rise residential work I have found.

Well, they have already marketed the implementation as an achievement and now they can do the same as with the overhaul adding "based on your feedback". So the same as for distance guides, MEP, attribute management, and I guess design option is next. Inside GS it might feel like the wheels are spinning and progress is being made but from the outside it is clear that we are looking at an organisation that is grinding to a halt under the pressure of its marketing oriented business strategy.
The alleged problem is to give users quick information about the writer of a post. Alleged because I haven't seen it brought forward in any of the extensive feedback regarding the community platform so if it is a problem, it should be far down on the priority list. The currently implemented solution is for the user to move the mouse over the icon or name of the poster to get a bubble which focus on badges (even showing multiples of the same "category") and just the number of posts, likes, and solutions. It's hard to see any real reason spending resources on implementing and "overhauling" this especially as we could already get the information rather quickly by just opening the user profile in a new tab.
But lets say that it actually is a problem to be solved - what should the solution look like? Just look at some forums engines and it becomes obvious how bad Khoros or at least GS implementation of it is.
Traditional forums simply put this information in the margin which helps givning visual structure to thread and also makes it possible to add a lot of information (online status, location, software versions, website, etc) without getting cluttered. This is really the baseline to evaluate any other approach.
Discourse powered forums has something similar to the current implementation but without mouse-over which makes it possible to have much more and useful information in the pane without it getting in the way. Discourse also has a lot of community building functionality that can be added here, such as direct message&chat button, link to gallery etc.

And Khoros actually have support for both margin (HP Support Community) and on-click display (Dataiku Community)...

Are these cards you mention that thing that appears when you hover the pointer over someones´ name? which provides useful information about the user, like how many likes he/she has given or received or their current badges of honor.

Yes.
They have been slightly modified now so they appear under the users name.
There is no 'view profile' button now, just click on the user name (same as before) to get more info on the user or to send them a private message.
