Grasshopper not found install issue.

Hi all. I've recently upgraded to AC22 and now having a problem with Grasshopper-archicad connection. I can't install it since it says 'Grasshopper is not found'.

Previously I used connection for AC21 on the same PC and it worked fine. I have removed the old connection plugin before trying to install the new one for AC22. I've also tried to reinstall grasshopper but the installer still doesn't see it. Everything is installed to the default location.

This interesting...
My first (and so far only) guess would be that the installer doesn't really like Windows 7? As you might know W7 is compatible with GRAPHISOFT products, but not tested/supported.

Anyhow, run the installer again, and after the error and quitting the installer, go to this folder, and gather the last log file you can find (that was just created):
c:\ProgramData\Install.GS

Send it to me in a Private Message, and I will take a look to see what might have failed.

Has this been resolved since, or do you still have this problem?

According to your log, the installer found an installed Rhino 5, but didn't find an installed Grasshopper. This might be because Grasshopper is actually not installed (it is an add-on for Rhino 5, it is not part of the application, you have to install it separately), or because it has not been started yet.

Please try uninstalling and reinstalling both rhino and grasshopper, first, and then try to start Grasshopper, create something (doesn't matter what) and save it, so it would register with the computer. After this, you can try installing the connection tool again, and see if it works this time.

If it still doesn't work, let me know, and we will see what we can do.

Are we able to have both AC21 and AC22 Grasshopper connection installed at the same time? Previously we could only have one.

Hi,

No, you can only have one version of the connection add-on installed at a time. You can't have both the AC21 and the AC22 version installed on the same computer at the same time.

Hello,
The download screen says I can download Grasshopper-Archicad 22 Live Connection for Windows, that is compatible with Archicad build 4023-5009.
The latest Archicad 22 update is installed on my PC with build 6021 - that is outside the indicated compatibility range.
After installing, it says "your archicad is newer than the installed add-on, please go or latest Archicad update". Honestly, I am a bit puzzled on this.
Please update the Grashoppers plugin, and also the compatibility list to match with current Archicad update.
Of course, the connection does not work...
If any Idea what to do, please do not hesitate to share.

I'm an IT Tech in a French architecture school and I had the same problem : grasshopper cannot be found.
Rhino5 SR6 + grasshopper 0.9.0076 installed and launched successfully. Archicad 22 6021 installed and launched successfully.

Here is the log part which shows the problem :

So I checked the registry wih regedit and the string value "FileName" didn't exist under HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\McNeel\Rhinoceros\5.0x64\Plug-ins\B45A29B1-4343-4035-989E-044E8580D9CF
BUT both FileName and FolderName string values existed in the sub-key PlugIn ! So I created both string values directly in the key HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\McNeel\Rhinoceros\5.0x64\Plug-ins\B45A29B1-4343-4035-989E-044E8580D9CF copy / pasted the values from PugIn subkey and voila !

Now the Grasshopper-Archicad 22 live connection plugin installs !
And seems to be working afaik.

I am having same issue except, I am using Rhino 6 (which includes grasshopper built in) and Archicad 23 and the add-on won’t recognize a download for grasshopper. Even when you go to grasshopper download, it just directs you to the rhino site.
