AC crashed and went through the usual bug report etc. then it asked if i wanted to reopen which i clicked, but nothing happened. so now, where do i find the backup file? i had progressed quite far when it crashed and my last save was not as recent as i would like. the bpn isn't as recent as the pln.

Ideally you should shut all running Archicads.
Start a new instance and the autosave file should be in the start up list.
Open that and Archicad should open the file - unless it is corrupted for some reason.
If that does not work then you can try to open the autosave file yourself, but guarantee it will work
I am not familiar with Macs, but on a Windows machine the auto save files are in the user folder ... C:\Users\username\Graphisoft
There you should see "autosave" folders.
In there you should see other folders.
You may have to hunt around a bit for a file called "database.fdb".
It should have a current date and be a fairly large file size.
Copy this somewhere else and rename it to ... yourfilename.PLN
Now try opening that file.
No guarantee it will work - that is why you copy the file.
Barry.
Versions 6.5 to 27

Lenovo Thinkpad - i7-1270P 2.20 GHz, 32GB RAM, Nvidia T550, Windows 11
