AC9 US Mac OS X - Keyboard Shortcuts odd behavior

So I am trying to setup the new Work Environment to reflect our standard keyboard shortcuts and have found two odd behaviors.

I'm trying to make Edit/Intersect have Control-I as its shortcut, but that seems to behave like I have pressed the tab key moving the highlighted field and not registering that I am trying to input a keystroke in the shortcut field.

There seems to be a similar problem with Control-Command(Apple)-M which acts like enter or return, dismissing the dialog box.

Anyone else found this on the Mac (or PC)?

ps. Why does Graphisoft contimue to use keyboard shortcuts that are the same as system wide keystokes on the Mac? Command-Option-D will show and hide the dock, not Drag a Copy and Command-H will hide the active application not Stretch. So everytime I have to put in new custom shortcuts to avoid these obvious conflicts.

it sounds very much like a mac bug we had during beta - thought it got nailed!

what happens if, instead of switching profiles, you simply click the menu header under which the shortcut resides and then immeadiatley cancel? does that also clear the block?

i think you'd better report it to tech support: tell them also that it was a bug i submitted during beta testing. that should give hungary a chance to track down all of the previous details as well.

We have had this disappearance of Keyboard Shortcut on a daily basis on 4 macs (G4 & G5 under OS 10.3.4). We have found that if ArchiCad "forgets" the shortcuts, then if you open any tool box and cancel or OK that dialog box, this "restores" the keyboard short cuts!

This week, Hungary let me know that an update to 10.3.5 may very well solve the problem. We've tried it on one Mac for one day, and so far so good. I'll post again next week.

Still a bug (in 10.3.6)

Trying to enter some keyboard shortcuts is not possible for instance opt-cntl-i cant be input.

A workaround is to put just opt-i into the field first (takes two goes) then opt-contrl-i can be input!!

Boy, we've been solid on 10.3.5 for about three days now. Did you try 10.3.5 before 10.3.6...?

I only received v9 yesterday so never had a chance to try it with 10.3.5

I have been able to get the shortcuts I need by the method I indicated above.

john, are you talking about actually setting up the shortcuts in your WE profile? if so, graphisoft have respected more of the OSX keyboard shortcuts this time around. if a shortcut 'belongs' to the system, archiCAD won't let you use it.

what you can do is apply the 8.1 keyboard scheme which takes ownership of the system shortcuts and gives them back to archiCAD when you next relaunch it. once relaunched simply apply the 9.0 keyboard scheme again and modify it as necessary . . .

Ben as far as I can see opt/command/i isnt a finder keyboard shortcut
Nor is opt/command/control/i- neither of these input into the WE

opt/command/i is 'get multiple info' (use it to keep the info palette on screen whilst changing the selected file in the finder - it updates itself depending on where you click).

the other one i have no idea about . . . maybe because it contains opt/command/i ?
