I have a gigantic list of changes that CAN´T be deletes because of some unknown reason. We have the habit of copying solutions from file to file, placing hotlinks from other PLN or TW files.. and we allways end up with a gigantic list of changes that sometimes have a LOCKED symbol on it.. I would like to know how to PURGE all the changes from any file so we can start a fresh list whenever is necessary.
Operating system used: Windows 11
Solved! Go to Solution.

Alright, I´ve worked out what was locking the changes to be deleted. It has to do with the ICEberg workflow. Quite complicated understand but here is what happend. I have 3 files. A is general. B was Building 1. C was building 2. Files B and C were using a Hotlink from file A (Site Boundary.mod). File A has modules from Files B and C placed on different levels. So I couldn´t delete the changes because the Hotlinks were getting a loop within the files.. I order to solve it.. I had to delete the Hotlink from file A that was being used on files B and C and then delete all the changes, salve, update modules, delete again (because they were being used negative floors), and finally update all the Hotlink on the General, and only then I coudl delete everything!!

This is what is written on the manual:
Changes from External Files
When placing an external Drawing (via an Archicad view/Layout) or a Hotlinked Module in your model, the arriving files may include Change data.
Changes in the Hotlinked file or external view are placed into the Host file and added to the host file’s Change Manager. However, note the following:
•Such external Changes are shown with a lock icon and their details cannot be edited
•Archived Changes in a Hotlinked file are not added to the host project
•Changes in external Drawings are added to the host project only if they are visible on the Layout
If the Change in the imported item has the same Change Number as a Change in the host file, they are combined as entries in the Change Manager.
NOW, how does someone have access to the file where the LIST OF CHANGES are kept??

At the bottom of the last screenshot there should be a button for 'Transmittals" can you post a screenshot of it to see if it is empty or not.
It should be empty or at most only one "Transmittal Set" and it should have the date as "Work in Progress".
If it is not empty can you delete all the sets?
Also, which version of AC are you using?

Hi Eduardo,
I do have this Transmittal set as Empty, but most of my changes are still locked. In other files, that i had an Issued Transmittal I tried opening the last set, deleting it and still the problem persists
I am using AC24
Monday
24 is 5 years old already and I have not read about anybody else with this issue.
My recommendation to track down why is to start with a new file and start copying to it until you see one of those changes appear to figure out what created it.
For the existing file with all the changes I would do the forward merge trick:

Mergin is not an option because we would lose all of the Viewsets.
I´ve find out what was bringing this changes into the files.. it´s fixed on the New projects.. my problem is to find a solution to the existing files the now require the changes to be tracked.
Monday
The second link has the option to try that can/might keep the ViewSets

The locked changes are within the hotlinks themselves, and will need to be removed from there. the file name of the hotlink is after the relevant change.
Tuesday
Yes, this problem is created by bringing in a hotlink and I´ve already located the "vilain" checking the Internal Library tab.. I´ve tried to remove all the hotlinks, the problem is once a hotlink is brought into the file (carrying changes) the changes can´t be erased. Or at least i don´t know how.
