List of all the reasons an element can be "greyed out"

Here are the reason's I know of.

1) If the element's layer is locked
2) If you have not "reserved" the element when working in teamwork.

Can anyone think of any other reasons?

I ask this question because of the many times I have been unable to figure out why I cannot edit an element even though the layer is unlocked and the element has been reserved by me in teamwork. For example: right now I am looking at a section and the Datum line is grayed out. I've reserved it, and it is unlocked via Edit Unlock and Quicklayers.

If the element is part of a Hotlinked Module and the "Suspend Groups" toggle is set ON, the element will appear locked. This is because when "Suspend Groups" is ON, elements of a group can be independently moved and edited. However, elements within a Hotlinked Module (which is a special kind of group) can be moved only together so in this case, they become locked to prevent modification.
This is visible from how the selection hotspots change when "Suspend Groups" is turned ON and OFF.

UPDATED LIST
of reasons an element may be "grayed out" or "un-editable":

1) If the element is locked
2) If the element's layer is locked
3) If you have not "reserved" the element when working in teamwork.
4) If the element is part of a Hotlinked Module (a special kind of "group") and the "Suspend Groups" toggle is set ON

Thanks for the help on this.

And as Kristian said ...

4). If the actual element is locked (doesn't need to be the layer that is locked).

When trying to change the layer of any element some of the layers are greyed. Layers aren't locked. elements aren't locked. Suspended Groups On or Off do not affect this behaviour. Tried restart save as another pln. creating a new layer seems to have a random chance of being able to move objects to it or not.
