Pick freeze layers? can it be done??

I have a hotlink PLN file linked into another PLN.
What's the best way to "hide (freeze)" selected layers rather than going thru the layer list?
Hiding them "on-screen selection" visually rather than having to syfon them thru the layer list.

Thankyou guys for this discussion. The option to create a shortcut for the 'hide selection' command is a great one. Ive ovewritten the 's' key which was formally snap to now carry out this command.

For those that do use the 'quicklayers' palette, has anyone experienced inconsistent performance with it. Sometimes I find that for example, the 'hide selections' button doesnt work. I have checked to make sure that selected elements are not part of a group, however sometimes it works sometimes it doesnt.

Any suggestions?

I've never experienced any problems with it yet. We use groups and hotlinked modules extensively. How is it not working for you?

Cheers,
Link.

I've had problems with the quick layers pallette, but not with the quick layers' commands. I believe that you can work around this by creating a custom toolbar containing the quick layer's commands. The new toolbar will remember it's place in your work environment.

The issue I am experiencing is that the hide selection and lock selection works intermittently. I am convinced I am doing something not quite right.

An example is when I am creating views, I turn on show and unlock all in the quick options and then work back by turning off layers that arnt required, then I save the view and create a layer combination based on the layers that I have turned off.

There are other ways to do it that have been discussed, however I would like like to be able to use the quick layers as it is more convenient that opening up the layers(Ctrl + L) .
