Strange Mods

Can anyone explain why Archicad does what it does with mod files...

1. Adds all the layers from the main file you inserted the mod file into.
This happens for all mod files once inserted into a drawing. Very annoying as I like to work with a limited layer subset.

2. Why updating the mod file in your main drawing resets your home view to the mod file's home view. This only happens with some mod file. Sometimes even the mod file shifts

Are the above known bugs?

Regards

Maurice

I am led to believe by my reseller that the movement of mod files is a matter that is currently being attended to by Graphisoft. Apparently this bug appeared in build 2018 but was't present in the previous released build. The movement of mod files has soemthing to do with their distance from the origin.

Mike:

Create a mod file with a limited subset of layers of the main file is an old wish, that I have desired many time ago. The only workaround that I have found is to save not as a module but as a clipboard module by definig a layer combination that contains the desired subset of layers, selecting all with the marquee and copying before saving it. An annoying method, of course, but it works.

Another wish concerning modules would be the ability to show only part of a placed module, by defining a polygon that works as a 'mask', showing the external or the internal area. I think that it would be very useful.
