Using Classifications

I consider myself quite strong with Archicad, but I am relative new to using Classifications & Properties correctly for data extraction through Schedules and Lists. I am looking for any tips on the following two questions:

I am thinking the way to go for my work is Uniclass 2015. Any reason to maintain the Archicad Classification - v 2.0?

Struggling to crystalize in my mind when to set up a Schedule and when to opt for a List - any pointers? They seem to provide a lot of info but don't seem to be customizable - unless that's the point of them.
