Wall Intersection Priority Mania

I'm sure this has come up before, but have had trouble searching for it as I am probably not using the correct term....

Layer/intersection priorities when concerned with walls:- is it meant to be of some sort of help when walls which are assigned to layers which are turned OFF still have an affect on walls that are turned ON?
We have a large project with all sorts of phasings, diagrams and GA drawings and this is driving me slighty insane. Can i suspend this (seemingly) ridiculous "feature"?
Is there any chance that as this has been the case since at least archiCAD 10(???) the next version or patch will have the option to stop it?

If I understand you correctly you mean “layer intersection priority”?
This option prevents any element from interacting with any other element on a layer who's intersection value is different. Very effective !!!
Take care, layer intersection number priority can be different with every layer combination. Don’t forget to update.

I would agree that for walls which are being displayed / turned on, this feature is imperitive, of course. But i can't figure out why walls which are turned off, need to affect layers which are turned on? It doesn't make sense to me.

I agree, elements on layers turned off should not effect any other - unless someone knows a skilful application.
It works confusing.

there is an add-on which will resolve all your layer intersection priority problems, so you don't have to do it manually... download, install and use.
