palette schemes; floating?

I have been told by my reseller support that i can't setup Quick Layers into a Palette Scheme and expect it to reappear in my standard working view because Quick Layers is a "floating palette". I have searched throughout the user reference manual, Archicad Help, ArchicadTalk, and ArchiWiki for references to "floating palettes" and found one obtuse reference to palettes that float. Nowhere have I found a list of what palettes are considered "floating".

What are floating palettes? And, why can't Quick Layers be setup in a palette scheme to always display when executing that scheme?

You can set up the Quicklayers palette, and it will remember its place, but it will not re-open automatically when you open Archicad. You will have to open the palette using the menu command each time.
This is true for some of the palettes and is due to a programming difficulty that GS hasn't decided to prioritize - yet. The complaint is old.
If you want to fix this for yourself you can make a custom Toolbar with those commands, and include it in your work environment. It will work the way you want it.
