bim server and client version

it appears my downloaded server and the client versions are different. i downloaded and installed the AC 14 and bim server/manager today with AC14 hotfix[AC14-3477-HOTFIX2-MAC]. i've checked my ac updates and it appears to be up-to-date.

The link below mentions the bim server does have an update.

where is the bim server update ?

You need to update the BIM Server software. If they are both the same 32/64 bit systems, run the very same 3477 hotfix on the BIM Server itself, just ignore the prompt to update ArchiCAD and the hotfix will continue on and update the BIM Server and BIM Server Manager.

It may be worth having any current users send their changes, if indeed you have users connected.

Thanks.
How do I run the hotfix on the bim server ?
I'm looking for the updates within the bim server and not finding it!

Go to the actual BIM Server (computer) and run the hotfix by double clicking on it.

Then just follow the prompts, ignoring the ArchiCAD update.

Hi LInk,
Can you post a screen shot as to where this actual BIM Server you mentioned ?

Okay, so presumably you're single user running the BIM Server and ArchiCAD (and BIM Server Manager) all on the same computer? Did you get to that screen on the same computer (liliam-seows-imac-2.local) as you use ArchiCAD on?

In any case, just run the hotfix on that computer and follow the prompts. When it prompts you to update ArchiCAD, just hit Next and it will prompt you to update the BIM Server and the BIM Server Manager (assuming you have loaded the BIM Server Manager).

It may help to know that you are dealing with three things:

1. ArchiCAD (the client)
2. BIM Server (the server)
3 BIM Server Manager (a small app that lets you control the BIM Server from any computer).

Although this can be done all on one computer, it is holistically designed for the BIM Server to be on a separate dedicated machine, the clients spread out around the office (or world) and the BIM Server Manager for select people to control the BIM Server from their client machines.

Hope that clears it up a little.

Thanks Link!
I finally got the Bim Server updated through the same AC14-Hotfix by skipping the AC update. The server and client build numbers are the same.

Thanks again!
