using a tethered 3g connection w/ Bim server

anyone know if it is possible to use a tethered 3g connection w/ iPhone.
I am using tether.com's (http://help.tether.com/home) HTML 5 solution.

cannot seem to connect to Bim server; usually says "offline"...
speeds are way slow; but I have usually have the latest local version of the file, so I should be able to send and receive what ever small amount of data.
just want it so I can work on ferry going to Bainbridge Island, WA.

is it maybe a Bim server trait that prevents?....just dunno

Why dont you use a Travel Pack?
Save a Travel pack before you leave office, work on the Travel Pack on the ferry, then next day send & receive changes to/from the BIM Server.

You only need to make sure you reserve everything you need for your work before creating the Travel Pack.

It is most definitely possible. I have successfully tested all the way down to a tethered 2G connection. I recommend connecting to the BIM Server remotely from a fast connection to download all your data then you can try connecting remotely with the tethered connection. It is also good to create a separate identity that you can use for your remote connection.
