Datasmith Exporter into ArchiCAD 28

Datasmith has already been integrated into Allplan and Vectorworks. Could we expect such a built-in connection with ArchiCAD 28?

It works, but it's not a built-in connection like that of Revit 2024 for example:

Twinmotion live synchronization was possible with ArchiCAD in the past without the need to export it first before being able to synchronize it with a direct link.

Solution

What you are saying is true, but it was Epic Games' decision to change that and go with the current solution. It was always their decision since they are the developers of the Datasmith Exporter and Twinmotion (since they acquired it from Abvent in 2019).

If I had to speculate, I would say that they changed to this solution because they wanted applications to have a connection to not only Twinmotion but to the underlying Unreal Engine as well, potentially attracting more people to their ecosystem.
