Enscape for Mac

Intersting... Enscape for Mac has been released. It does NOT work with ArchiCAD, but I assume that is a temporary road block. For now you save your ArchiCAD model to Sketchup and then save to Enscape.

It's not cheap though... $54/mo. for use on "one" computer.

This ArchiCAD user from Australia (is he a member in this forum) did a Twinmotion to Enscape comparison on an M1 Ultra Mc Studio. All he did was import the model directly into each, did no tweaking, and then rendered a view. Just out of the box Enscape looked leagues better. I assume it is using raytracing with native Metal Graphics code. Check it out here.

I was very, very excited to see the sneak peek into Twinmotion 2023 Preview 2 with their new and improved interface, but if you're on Mac, still no raytracing.

I am going to try the demo of Enscape since I currently have half a dozen projects using Twinmotion and am always looking for the latest and greatest rendering softwares.

Anyone else have any input regarding Enscape for Mac?

It was released last year and yes the Mac version was only for Sketchup 21 and 22... 😞

Results were great even without raytracing though compared to the Windows version, there were some functionnalities that were missing but I think it was expected for a first version. There is a thread on their message board regarding Archicad but no real news,  any time, one asks about a release date for Archicad on MacOS, they reply that it's in the works and to subscribe to the newsletter : https://forum.enscape3d.com/index.php?thread/21398-enscape-for-mac-archicad/

You can save out as SketchUp file from ArchiCAD and open in Enscape for Mac.

@Rex Maximilian , @Romans ,

A couple weeks ago, Enscape for Mac got updated and it now works for Archicad and Vectorworks on top of Sketchup. Only works for Archicad 26 and 27 as it's only made for Silicon chips but I tried it with Archicad 26 and it's working well for the very short time I tried. When it comes to features, it's doesn't have full parity with the windows version but it's a first step at least.

🤘🏻Thank you Metal Fingerz!

There is another discussion about it and how the Intel-Mac user-base is getting left behind:

I'm not sure if this is the case. We're running 2 year old INTEL iMacs and I'be able to install a trial version of Enscape.

So, I wonder if hardware is less of a problem than the reduced feature set of this new release. I'm a newbie when it comes to visualization environments like Enscape (Twinmotion, Lumion, etc), but the Windows version appears to have many more features than this initial release for Mac.

After seeing Graphisoft's initial push into Twinmotion during their 2019 event where they were "all in" with it, I've since invested a lot of resources (time and library development). The latest preview of 2023.2 with the LUMEN renderer looks pretty awesome. It does raytracing with Apple Silicon. In all honesty, it's really only useful for rendering still images, but that's better than we had with no PathTracer. For RealTime navigation, I'll just turn it off.

It would take a monumental advancement over Twinmotion for me to consider switching apps. But I will keep my eye on Enscape.

You can install it and it appears in the AC menu, but it fails to run. On Intel Macs.

Their system requirements are quite clear:
