Issue with Twinmotion DATASMITH ADD-ON not loading and or error

I am having an issue with the Twinmotion DATASMITH ADD-ON for AC28. It was working and now isn't (not loading at all). I have uninstalled and reloaded the ADD-ON along with AC itself with no success

The ADD-ON manager shows two versions that keeps reappearing even after I delete them, they show the following:

- The Add-On is already loaded.

and the other

- The file is an outdated Add-On that cannot be used with this Archicad version.

Any suggestions would be appreciated.

Operating system used: Mac Apple Silicon Ventura

Hi!

It can happen that you have 2 of the same Add-On installed, and e.g. that the broken one (or some old one) blocks the new Add-On.

Try the following:

1. Open the Add-On Manager

2. Select the faulty Add-On

3. Check the path like highlighted here:

4. Note the paths for all of the Datasmith Add-Ons appearing in the Add-On Manager
5. Close Archicad

6. Delete all Datasmith Add-Ons for which you've noted the path

7. Open Archicad & confirm that no Datasmith Add-Ons are loaded

8. Close Archicad

9. Install the Datasmith Add-On

10. Open Archicad and see if it works now

Hope that helps,
Bernd

Hi Bernd,

Thanks for this!

I tried this but it didn't work, although I think the issue is similar to what you are suggesting.

Hi Fraser,

Very weird... What's your exact AC28 version?

Hi Bernd,

Thanks very much for getting back to me!

I have solved the issue, it was a matter of upgrading to the latest macOS.

Cheers,

Fraser
