That sounds interesting, are you using the plug-in or the stand alone beta?

the stand alone will be released in about a month.

I am maybe one of the very first users of Maxwell and the Stand alone Version will not be available NEXT month...

According to the road map it will be available 15 MArch but wait till April....

anyway if you want to see maxwell renderings check my website:

http://www.bisand.com

I will upload more stuff - when I have time...

Also I have read somewhere about import Archicad model to maxwell question?

The R.1 Maxwell will be like a super advanced Art-Lantis lets say... so no need to C4d os Max or whatever you are using... I do not know yet if you will be able to animate objects - but I am sure about lights and cameras!

anyway... I am trying to convince Oscar and Victor (maxwell developers) to fully support an archicad model but they are so many 3d programs that it is imposible for them to support all... maybe we will have better luck to talk to graphisoft to create a Maxwell export plugin...

if you have questions let me now...

Actually maxwell as is, is targeted to architecture mostly (due to high rendering times), so an export plugin is not just another 3d program.
But i guess if there 3d format (mxs) is open, a plugin would be really easy to write.

From Archicad to 3ds to maxwell is not an easy trip for a big project.

Since the C4D plug-in for Maxwell won't be coming out for several months and I don't know when the C4D Macintosh version of the plug-in is scheduled.

And, since most of us don't design projects that look like hollow hallways with nothing but stairways and teapots hanging from the ceiling. Would any of the current users be interested in a 3ds export that they can render in Max using Maxwell? Just a standard house, nothing artsy.

Interested in render times and basic effect.

Hi andronikos916: Congratulations by your work... are very good... I also I use ArchiCAD+3dsmax+Vray... that good that you were used my model 3d of the chair phanto... jejeje... follows ahead

Just one inside rendering. Nothing fancy. Not quality materials.
Most materials are reflective, plastic floor, nickel, to watch how the renderer uses light.

Thanks, very interesting. Render times and platform?

In Maxwell you dont put the model and press render and wait to finish.
You actually do the other way around.
You put the max time you wish to render and the max sampling level you wish the algorith to reach.
The sampling level is part of the algorithm maxwell uses, the higher the better, and values above 20 usually produce noise free pictures.
For that picture i let the program run for 3 hours, i set the time limit to 12 hours but stopped it earlier cause i saw what i wanted.

I will do the same picture with lights off and only sunlight on , which now is off. That king of rendering usually takes much more time to be noise free.

I use an AMD Athlon 2Ghz 1GB RAM.

Maxwell can render in a network(or multiple cpu's) but i have not used that feature yet

PS. Look the band of lights that reflects on the floor behind the chair and is not parallell to the direction of original light.

The same model with lights off and just sunlight.
The picture is dark, because there hall is big and the openings not enough but that is what i wanted. I wanted to see how reflective surfaces behave.

Rendering time 5 hours. The pictures is noisy enough. I guess for a noise free picture on my machine (athlon 2GHz 1GBRam) i need about 10 hours with the current alpha version.
