similar to gelato... the artvps and it is in the market 2 years now.

ArtVps and PURE are hardware raytracing add-on cards. Pretty expensive. Pretty good.

Gelato is a software solution that utilises "regular" 3D-cards.

The result is similar, the approach is different.

Sounds nice, we all appreciate the recognition for our favorite program.

Let's believe it when we see it.

20 other applications are also waiting, see newsletter.

No info. Let's hope that the price of the plugin will include the renderer too 😉

Anyway, it's too expensive for me and no demo available...

The plugin stefan, will be just an export plugin, to port the geometry from Archicad directly to maxwell, as the cinema4d plugin, and as the 3ds plugin.
Not a rendering plugin.

No Revit? It seems GS's doing their job better than Autodesk!

Correction: It seems the ArchiCAD USERS are doing a better job than the asleep at the wheel Revit users.

Sleeping huh??? hmmmm..... We'll see 'bout that!

As far as Maxwell, many Revit users have been playing with the Beta versions. While it does produce very nice renderings, the speed at which it renders seems to be a huge issue. Not sure if the 'true' version will have the same problems.

Have you ever heard of any rendering sqftware that didn't promise the full release would be more optimised then the beta? And most of them are still pretty slow for most users, since the users usually lack the experience to tweak the speed.

That said, I'm not sure if Maxwell can be tweaked that much, since it has little settings so it seems. Might be good for average users, but advanced users love settings.

What I have read about Maxwell's render settings is that instead of specifying a size for the render what you do is specify the amount of time you are willing to wait for it and M will give you its best rendering within that time frame. It could be that in order to have an acceptable render there is a minimum amount of time that is needed thus the longer wait times for it.
