This has been posted elsewhere, but in case people haven't seen it before, I thought it was a good example of how well the OctaneRender for ArhciCAD replicated the ArchiCAD scene inside Octane.

You can see to sun position is taken from ArchiCAD, so sun studies render very well. Same with fly-thrus.

Yes, I read the same thing somewhere on Otoy's website. This is looking great! I can't wait for the finished version to come out from beta. How exciting!

Just a little showcase using the demo.

Modeled with ArchiCAD (so odd materials = bad model...) and rendered with Octane.

Render-time 1000x600px pics is pretty much within 3 minutes (GTX660)

Materials are basic Archicad - slightly tweaked. Full version / plugin has live material library so it should look much better

Wow! I love it. Did you use the AC plugin or standalone version of Octane Render?

Neither, just the demo which you can download @ otoy.

It's rather limited but it gives a nice preview of the incredible options.

I exported the archicad model to .obj (scale to 1000 and allow rotation) and imported it into the demo.

All the pics together are half a day work

As paulk said there's instant featback @ high quality which works well for us designers.

So definitely standalone (demo version). Thanks!
Great work!

Sorry, yes standalone.

1000 passes @ 1.5 minutes

It's just the demo so materials are lacking, but it does give a nice benchmark @ how fast you get results.

Very nice! I also tried a few of my own, on a model built in AC11 and rendered in Octane standalone (demo) last week, here's one of them:

Nice brick textures!

I love the fact that you can render every single material in the current light settings (pretty much wysiwyg) and tweak it to optimal - all in 30 sec

Do you get some nice render-times?
