Another question, are Octane Render output image sizes dependent on on-board video memory the same way a program like iray is? So the larger the image size, the more on-board video memory it demands..
Rendersize has a maximum of 8192x8192 regardly of how much RAM or VRAM you have.

Hello Paul,

I've tried to install the plugin-demo.

The file "OctaneRenderForArchiCAD.apx" gives the error: The file is either not an Add-On or an outdated one that cannot be used with this ArchiCAD version.

I've the latest archicad 16 release 3487, OctaneRender for ArchiCAD 16 Demo (v1.13b) & Nvidia driver version 314.22.

Still doesn't work. Any idea's?

Are you running on an English version of ArchiCAD? The plugin gets installing into GRAPHISOFT\ArchiCAD 16\Add-Ons\Visualisation, so on non-English versions you will need to move the plugin into the localized "Add-Ons" folder. If that is not the issue, could I trouble you to email me at paul at physicalc-software dot com, and I will send through a link to the previous version - in case there is a problem with the latest download link.

Are there GOOD picture ? (Sorry. Look. I have good developers in my company, but there are no people who can create some good enthusiastic picture for the prospective buyers ? Plesa show me the best picture dear Octane ? It is not enough. But tha product look very interesting.

Check out the gallery at render.otoy.com/forum/viewforum.php?f=5. Lots of architectural renders there, both interior and outside - using a range of Octane plugins (and Octane Standalone) - they are all the same renderer.

Also, try the demo to get an idea of the interactivity and render quality.

That is correct. I will be working on the Mac version of the ArchiCAD plugins once I source a Snow Leopard machine (required to compile ArchiCAD plugins). Unfortunately I have Mountain Lion at the moment.

I've checked again (also on an other pc) and I believe there's a problem with the 32bit version.

The 64bit version (yet another pc) works great.

Also tried 1.13a version btw.

Hi

It is possible there is an issue with the 32bit installer. 99% of all users are on 64 bit, so I have been lax in not testing the 32bit version thoroughly. I will look into this when the next update is released (about a week away).
