Real time 3d Presentations

We are currently preparing to set up an independant Large screen presentation area for clients to view their new designs.

At the moment I generally take my laptop in to each meeting and spin the model round for them to view.

I have tried zermatt and like the speed (especially to save an independant file) rather than have to fully render.....but....

Is there anything else worth pursuing.
We'd prefer not to fully render for hours - But we want quality if possible
We need quality presentation that can be "HANDLED" by our personnel for presentations rather than a few dedicated CAD staff.
We need a simple save and run process

Is there anything else out there worth looking at
PDF U3d is a little primitive
Archishock is good interface fpr simple use but low quality
Zermatt looked ok but who knows what is going on with EON software ?

Any other suggestions would be greatly appreciated

I just checked out Bentley's web site.

http://www.bentley.com/en-US/Products/MicroStation/Interactive+3D+PDF.htm

They show their customers what the Interactive 3D within a PDF function can create. Where is this type of information on the GraphiSoft web site?

Look into AC10 New features.pdf guide page 58. It is one of the 10.000 new features so the GS web site overlook it as insignificant...

Yeh i saw these also Burginger but the interface is sadly not up to scratch and quite frankly zermatt knocks it dead - I haven't seen the latest of zermatt but I'd like minimal PEOPLE involvement in playback and when I saw zermatts motion it was a little clunky.....even given the real time Opengl enviro.
Hmmmm this is getting troublesome as we are about to spend some serious bucks on a presentation panel in the conference room with attached PC and DVD.....I've just got to come up with the presentation and interface...
I have to try a standard rendered flythru again I think

Hey is Zermatt available for ARCHI 10 yet ?

...A series of linked Quicktime panoramas, perhaps using Meander

Meander is dead (it was kind of QT variation so it isn't so painful).
QuickTime panoramas do the same as Zermatt engine, maybe not so fast and easy - but you got high quality rendering (with LW shaders and lights) instead OpenGL preview. Zermatt got nice options for exploration games-like .

Meander will not be missed. It made any QTVR presentation look stupid.

The u3d interface is clunky. It feels like you're trying to look at a tiny model by holding in your feet.

I think that VR panoramas are still one of the best options for presentation. Besides using LW shaders and lights (or Artlantis now with Studio), they are fairly fast and easy to produce, compared to animations. They have a simple interface that allows user involvement and at least the illusion of an immersive virtual environment. And they result in relatively small file sizes in a format even the most RAM-challenged computer can easily recognize and present.

Like animations, the story you're telling needs to be carefully considered and scripted, but I think this form of presentation has always had huge untapped potential. And unlike Zermatt, your client can't go wandering off looking at stuff you'd rather he didn't see just yet...

Tried to get some news on Zermatt, and when I visited their site, the following was shown;
ANNOUNCEMENT

Zermatt is no longer supported or maintained
Due to our inability to properly maintain the software and provide service to customers, it has been
decided that Zermatt will no longer be developed, maintained or supported. Current license owners
will still be able to activate and use the current versions of their product via the reqistration dialog.

Contacting Zermatt
Click here to post general questions, we will do our best to get back to you
Does anyone know anything else about this? Was hoping to use Zermatt with AC 11.

Finally, an updated Shockwave Macromedia/Adobe Director 11 is out, with support for hardware rendering of 3D scenes. Maybe worth checking out www.adobe.com/products/director/ ?

ArchiShock used to export to Shockwave, but seems like this program is not active anymore.
