Rendering problem - intersection of surfaces

Anonymous
Not applicable
Hello everyone,

I have recently upgraded to ArchiCAD 21 and am currently experiencing an extremely irritating problem.

As you can see marked with red outlines in the attached image, there are some problems with rendering the intersections of surfaces. It seems to create some big "dots" or "blobs" of light and shadow.

Also, there is a complete lack of shadow in the spot marked with blue and a slight presence of the aforementioned problem. That object looks like it is floating, in my opinion.

There are multiple other problems with this render, but I am posting about the ones I've mentioned because I have NO clue as to where to start my search for an answer.

Kind regards,
Alexander V.

PS: I can provide the original un-marked image if needed for clearance.

I am no render expert but I am guessing it may be Global Illumination settings.
Here are a couple of posts I found.

As for the shadow from the shelf it could be a material setting (i.e. the wall material is not receiving the shadow) - again I am no expert.
Or it could be that if it is a GDL object it has been scripted not to cast shadows - you can test this by viewing in 3D with shadows on.
