Shadows on a 2d plan?

Is it possible to make shadows on a 2D plan.

Like illustrated on the attached file.

Not in 3D render but in 2D

Yes I know about the 3d cutting planes etc.

But my question was, is it possible in the 2D plane.?

Please read the Help file:

1. By using the Cutting planes to specify the height of the cut.
2. Use 3D Projection Settings to view the file in top view and save it to a 3D Document.
3. In the 3D Document turn shadows on.

I don't want to show the 3d version of the plan, but the 2d plan.

Is that possible with that function.?

2D Objects cannot cast shadows since the shadows are calculated by the 3D window. If you want shadows in the floor plan you need to use a 3D document the regular 2D story can not cast shadows.

What do you need to do that can be done in the regular story and cannot be done using a 3D Document?

I have made a drawing in 2d, like the attached file. It is identical but without the shadows. So the shadows is the only thing i need.

I wan't to have the plan in a specific scale, that is why it is easier in 2d. So I don't haft to take to photoshop afterwards for correcting.

Is it possible to make transparent fills, to make fake shadows.?

If you read about 3D documents you would know that these have a specific scale just like regular floor plans and as easy. They are vectors (therefore they will always be sharp) so you don't have to open them in Photoshop to edit or to rescale. Since they are tied to the Model they will update as you make changes and you can control the cover fills, layers and MVO.

If you want to do it the hard way and fake the shadows you can use transparent fills just select the background pen to be transparent.
