thanks for posting that link. I hope Graphisoft is already working on software to work with 64 bit processors.

ArchiCAD 25 7000 USA - Windows 10 Pro 64x - Dell 7720 64 GB 2400MHz ECC - Xeon E3 1535M v6 4.20GHz - (2) 1TB M.2 PCIe Class 50 SSD's - 17.3" UHD IPS (3840x2160) - Nvidia Quadro P5000 16GB GDDR5 - Maxwell Studio/Render 5.2.1.49- Multilight 2 - Adobe Acrobat Pro - ArchiCAD 6 -25

Has software like "Mental Ray" been mentioned on this forum as a possible solution for handling large renderings in ArchiCAD? Maybe not this software in particular, but the aspect of "network (through distributed processing) renderings" for example...

http://www.mentalimages.com/2_1_0_mentalray/

"mental ray® generates images of outstanding quality and unsurpassed realism and achieves scalable performance through the exploitation of parallelism on both multiprocessor machines and across networks of machines. The software uses advanced and proprietary acceleration and recursive sampling techniques for faster rendering on even the smallest, single processor machines."

there are several applications that use network and distributed processing.

Google "render farms" to see: Render King our fave with Cinema 4D and others serviced.

I have hopes that Apples' X grid will eventually help with rendering times. Has anyone looked into using it with AC?

Here is a link to X grid.
