Vertical Neon Light

Anonymous
Not applicable
Hi
sorry for my english, I tried to make a vertical neon light reading Dwight book (p140). Probably i make something wrong. I use round color with the settings of the material glowing constant. I put it in a distance of 100 mm of the wall. Then I put general light sources in a vertical distance of 150 mm each other with the light settings you propose.
The result is to much light on the scene (the intensity is 10).
I 'll be glad if someone can help me or have any idea.
Thanks for your time.

This poster has not carefully read the neon article in my book.

It is clear that to make neon light trick work, the GDL script of the General Light used must be tweaked to fool the light into emitting 1/10 of its normal power (and still be colored).

This is on Page 140 in the segment "Place the Light Array"
The illustration on the following page adjacent shows how to change the GDL script.

IT IS STILL NOT TOO LATE TO ORDER THE LIGHTWORKS IN ARCHICAD BOOK

Dear Dwight,
the mistake was mine. I had increase the value in the DGL by 10.
I have your book and is very helpful to me.
Here is my desired neon light.
Thank you for your time.

Fair enough. That neon trick is obtuse and defies expectation. I was so angry that the conventional tools couldn't do it, I had to find a way.
