I finally decided to take the plunge and do my render in Lightworks instead of Artlantis 4.5.
Any tips for adding props to a scene- like pictures of people etc in lightworks
My limited efforts have been fairly unsucessful
1) image was upside down
2) wasnt able to scale it up to an appropriate size
3) was washed out even though the rest of the scene is fairly well lit.
4) couldnt control its position on the element.
any comments would be great
Thanks
Cheers John

Completely beside the point and off topic, Art•Lantis R does this majestically. Piranesi even better, uses RCP.
If you already don't have some cutouts, use ArchiFacade to create them - if not plain GDL scripting.

yes Artlantis does this fairly well too, but I have gone this far with LW. So far the render doesnt look bad but it needs a client logo, people, that kind of thing.
When I am back on my main computer I will try wrapping the image onto an object rather than a wall to see if that helps the placement.

John,
As Dwight would tell you, it is far faster and easier to add people etc. in Photoshop.

I have yet to see really well placed - proportional and correctly lit, with shadows not going in wrong directions - cutouts in Photoshop.
If you are going to do this, use Piranesi.

No need to beg.

We all have our different techniques and styles. Piranesi is one I haven't yet made the time to try. Now I have some more incentive to give it a go!

Another factor to consider when placing props either in the model or post modeling software is how much time you have. Some 3D elements like people and trees with their many facets can add multilply the rendering length to where it is not practical or possible.
In such cases putting these elements in in your post-modeling software can be make a tremendous difference.
Artlantis is very quick to work in and you can do your lighting as well as prop placing in it.
LW requires you to use a separate photo-editor to post-place these elements.
Djordje can address Piranesi.
