additional render engines

Does anyone know any other render engines that can be added to the default ones in Archicad ? ( Or is this not possible ?)

It is possible; check out for example the free beta of AV Works at Abvent web site. There has been extensive talk on ArchiLumos, too. They are all external engines, using the API of ArchiCAD.
