License Delivery maintenance is expected to occur on Saturday, November 30, between 8 AM and 11 AM CET. This may cause a short 3-hours outage in which license-related tasks: license key upload, download, update, SSA validation, access to the license pool and Graphisoft ID authentication may not function properly. We apologize for any inconvenience.

Did anybody of you try to create a decent car paint shader?
How to get it?

Have you tried BIM Components?
You can access it from the New Cinerender surface in the surface settings.
I am sure there is some paint in there.
Not sure if it will be glossy car paint specifically.

go create new material using CineRender materials
then go to Color channel in the material properties and add a Lumas shader.
this will give you 3 stacked layers of full color, specular and reflection channels in the color channel itself and from there you'll be able to have a sophisticated color paint-like material.

Thank you very much.
I'll try it.
Cinerender has a lots of settings (=secrets) and it's difficult, or a t least time consuming passing from a rendering software (very simple like artlantis is) to it.
But I think it is worth.
Thanks

my pleasure ...
Cinerender is easier than you might think of (it's true that there are tons of settings out there however they are well categorized and straight forward) but the problem is that we used to use ArchiCAD as BIM application not as a CG application and we need to bridge that gap in order to get the most out of the rendering engine.
anyway let me know if that would work 😉

Sure.
If I get a decent result I'll share it.

Nice glass!
I have and had several problems with the glass.
Sometime it appears as opaque.

it's more than one issue to get Opaque effect on the glass:
check:
*- Lighting (you have to have GI Global Illumination activated)
*- transparency should be too low or too high
*- increase the value of Ray Depth parameter
*- if you're working with external shot you have to add HDRI image to the Environment channel
*- your lighting sources should be configured so they match your camera (external or internal)
that was to name a few causes of making Glass material Opaque. hope it would help

Here's my result ...
I followed your suggestion muazonline. Thank you very much.
I added a fresnel effect on the reflection channel, inverting the default black and white, changing the black to a mid gray.
I added also a disturb (a grain) in the diffusion chanenel

I worked only on the carpaint material in this image.

How to share just a surface?
