textures on windows / doors

Not applicable
Is it possible to have the texture map on windows and doors applied the "correct way" ie the transoms and mullions should have the texture running different directions (see attached pic showing texture the same way)

Hope this makes sense!

It's really about object making - the GDL controls are there.

Considering the work versus potential payback and the priority Graphisoft has assigned to visual presentation perfection, don't look for it anytime soon.

I'd personally see objects with many components be better refined in model details rather than concern for mapping directions.

it's things like this that are contributing to my ever increasing loss of faith in graphisoft to deliver tools that will take us architects and designers into the future. if god is in the details then graphisoft are most definitely atheist.

i have two different materials for each timber in my materials list: one with the textures translated through 90º. as djordje says - the problem then comes with mitred or butted corners. graphisoft seem to have an unshakable faith in the ability of today's contractors to construct clean, accurate mitres all of the time. and i'm not just talking joinery: composite wall skins spring to mind as a part of the same problem. i think maybe they should get out on site for a day or two a week . . .

the code above fixes texture translation in objects provided that the GDL is orienting the origin into the right position prior to a element being created. put it in at 999: and 'gosub' / 'return' after each part of the object is created. here's a simple wooden chair i created whilst sitting at it in a bar in thailand to demonstrate the principle . . .

A great drinking chair if you climb right in: the stick in the middle would fit between the legs and give you something to hold onto when falling backwards.

it's very uncomfortable and weighs a tonne . . . but was simple enough for my first forays into real life GDL way back then.

best wishes for the new year dwight!

Sorry, had to include images for that chair, and Dwight's comment.

The comparison is between Indian and Irish Yoga Asanas.

haha.
Ireland - drinking nightmare/paradise.

Altho, when visiting there in September, I saw no hint of crazy drunks.

Always went to bed early.

I actually saw the whole series of these pictures of drunk peole performing the most incredible "asanas".
They are from Poland, I think, at least the web page they appeared on was polish.

I didn't know that, but I suppose the Poles are as likely a target for jokes as the Irish!
