Detailer Library USA

In the older version of USA libraries, there is a section for 2D details.

This is unique to the USA library, but now we have 'Global' libraries, there is no library pack for these USA details.

Could a library pack of these details please be created?

Apparently there is a detail library available with the USA Archicad installation.

It can be found in ... Archicad 28 > Archicad Legacy Objects

And is called ... Archicad Legacy Objects USA.lcf

As far as I know it is only available to those installing the USA version of the software.

It could easily be created as a library package available to all users (I understand that the objects are USA based and imperial dimensions).

I will leave it to the powers that be to decide if this wish is to be closed or not.

At least we know where to find the old library now.

Agreed 100%. I wouldn't relegate it to a legacy library. I'm sure some of these objects are useful for the global market.

Dear All,

Legacy contents are available here for all relevant languages: Downloads – Graphisoft

We too have been updating with the attempt to only use current library parts.

We use a lot of these detail items in our sections however so we are also stuck with having to load old libraries - which I was trying to get away from.

I understand this for ‘a one’ off item but when it’s full of useful things I’d second that it should be included please.

I loaded the legacy objects and I have some problems:

1. If this is a LEGACY object, why doesn't DET_Stud have the same GUID as DET_Stud 27? I have 429 instances of that object in our template, 95% in hundreds of details. I need to go to every single detail and manually change them one by one. Injecting properties doesn't work, since they have different settings + the orientation is different, so after injecting, the stud moves to a different location. This is very frustrating.

2. Why is this legacy? What does Graphisoft offer that is better and more up to standard? I don't like loading legacy libpacks to a template.

3. How is it better to load this Legacy libpack than creating a Detailer package with the 27 objects used? The term "legacy" doesn't sound like it's going to be cared for in the future, so how is it better than the 27 objects? All I see is days of work transferring to something that is already suggested to be obsolete.

"Fixing" 700+ details is going to be fun...

Graphisoft should at least offer smarter search and listing options across full project (details, sections, layouts etc.) I have no idea where objects are if they aren't in the model space. (Is there a wish for that?)

None of the 28 library packs are backwards compatible with 27.

In other words 27 objects will not migrate to 28.

I don't use it, but I assume even the legacy objects pack is a 'new' library with new GUIDs.

It is the same old objects but saved with new GUIDs.

I guess it is 'Legacy' because Graphisoft no longer want to maintain these objects and want you to use the new library objects?

I really don't know.

If you are opening an old file, just keep using the old libraries.

If you are opening a new file based on a 28 template, then use only the new global libraries.

And if you really need these particular library parts, then load the legacy global library pack, and don't worry about the fact they have called it 'Legacy".
